The Wood Burn Book by Rachel Strauss of Wood Burn Corner

this book has more modern vibes and includes tonnes of project ideas and inspiration as well as everything you need to know to start wood burning. this is an essential guide that opens with a brief background to the art of wood burning, a list of tools and how to use them, basic techniques that can be used over and over again, and even what to burn and how to be safe doing it.

you will also find a detailed explanation of the process from start to finish, with patterns, techniques for lettering and adding color, as well as dozens of projects ready for gifting, including picture frames, cutting boards, coasters, cards, wooden spoons, and jewelry.

Pyrography Workbook: A Complete Guide to the Art of Woodburning by Sue Walters

this is a book that I have had for years now. I enjoy looking through the textures and patterns for wood burning. I often bring this one with me when I teach classes in order to show students just how versatile the art of pyrography is! The realistic animals and burns in the book are really at an expert level so may seem discouraging or overwhelming but the inspiration is rich in this book!

another great book from Wood Burn Corner: The Wood Burning Community Book of Templates

this book of templates is a beautiful collection of designs for artists at all stages from our incredibly talented and diverse community. it has a section where it provides instructions on how to transfer the designs onto wood and briefly jumps into how to wood burn. these templates and patterns are meant for you to trace onto a wood slice and practice the art od pyrography with a beautiful image at the end! not only is this one my favorite because it features art from across the globe, but I also was lucky enough to help design it! my artwork lives in this book so you can practice wood burning mandalas.
